Press Release Summary = Leading humanitarian is seeking additional cosponsors for a
bill that will address global poverty.

Press Release Body = WASHINGTON - June 4, 2007 - The president of The Borgen Project
is on Capitol Hill this week building support for the Global Poverty Act. The bill
will require the White House to "develop and implement a strategy for ending severe
poverty."

"This is a really exciting moment in history," said Borgen. "Over 35-years ago this
country had the political will to send a man to the moon and this bill says it's
time we find the political will to end severe poverty."

The Global Poverty Act requires the White House to address the U.S. foreign policy
objective of eliminating extreme global poverty. It aims to achieve the U.N.
Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the number of people who live on
less than $1 per day by 2015.

"Everything is in place for a drastic drop in poverty," said Borgen. "The last
hurdle is we need U.S. leaders to step up to the plate."

The Borgen Project is a Seattle-based organization leading efforts to pass the bill.
According to Borgen, 62 U.S. representatives have cosponsored the bill thus far.
